During configuration of ID vault you can set a group of users that are able to recover passwords from ID vault. You might want to do this for example for your helpdesk staff to enable them to recover a password on 1st level support. But to actually do it, they need an administrator client installed and that's usually not the case for 1st level support staff.
So it would be nice to provide another way to recover a password from ID vault, maybe from within the People view in names.nsf

There is a sample notes DB on 8.5 where user can reset their password themselves. However their need to login using their notes internet password first. So in theory you could built another application (web/client) for helpdesk to reset user password.
But it would still be nice to be able to do this without any code whatsoever, so I agree.

This would be a great case of where the WebAdmin client would prove valuable. Just set the role and the Help Desk would only be able to get the particular tab needed for this task.
To do that though, Lotus is going to need to invest more in developing further this client, and that process has received fewer funds than other development efforts (right or wrong). So, not sure it would happen though.
