Every Notes Admin an every Notes Designer knows the daly problems with cache.ndk, see also

Cache.ndk (.dsk) is a relict of Yesteryear (computers stone age) as RAM was short and expensive. So abolish using cache.ndk in all client moduls. This will help our users and the supporters as well

No. Cache.ndk has nothing to do with RAM and everything to do with network latency and server load. Kicking out cache will make applications slow as every design element has to be sent from the server every time.

It does create alot problems, but he other idea that you mention suggests a way to alleviate those problems.

Personally, I cannot remember a single case of where compacting the workspace did not solve a problem, that went away after deleting cache.ndk. Your mileage may vary, but getting rid of client site caching is not a good idea for the reasons mentioned above.
