It would be great if we could resize the properties dialog in the Notes client. When browsing field values on a document or setting properties in Domino Designer, often there is a severe lack of space to work with.

A type ahead search on the field name would also be a wonderful thing.
2) Jens Polster1571 (29 Oct 2007)
Having this feature would also allow to compensate the loss of information which occurs in translated versions of Notes when the translated text is much longer than the original english text.
3) Tim Tripcony860 (29 Oct 2007)
I'd rather see it moved to the sidebar; expand when you need it, collapse when you don't, resize when you need to see more info.
4) Alan Lepofsky8315 (01 Nov 2007)
I'm with Tim, I hope the property box goes away, and instead those items are displayed in the Notes Sidebar. (hint, I know it's been discussed!)
5) Nathan T. Freeman2636 (02 Nov 2007)
Discussed? Alan, that's also how all the Symphony apps work! It's no secret... the property box is getting deprecated, slowly but surely.
6) David Camara916 (07 Nov 2007)
definitely agree that the properties box should be improved and resizeable, making it dockable would be a bonus
7) Ben Poole1705 (07 Nov 2007)
My understanding is that the properties box in Designer (in Eclipse) would probably be morphing into an Eclipse view, so it would make sense to do likewise in the client, definitely.

A colleague of mine mentioned this to Andre Guirard at Lotusphere a few years ago & he seemed interested in it. Two years later & it may finally happen. I would vote for docking it like in Dreamweaver.
9) Frank Jania33 (24 Nov 2007)
I agree with @3. This fossil of a UI component needs to be put in the museum.
10) Hans-Peter Kuessner108 (27 Nov 2007)
If it is easier to get it resizable - that will help. To have it displayed in the sidebar as suggest by @3 is the best solution.
11) Rob Pinion136 (15 Jul 2008)
I havent' seen if this is handled in R8.5 but I would like the View dropdown choices field to be much wider --- it's about 9 characters -- when selecting a view when Dialog List field choices are selected from View Dialog.
12) Christopher Baier450 (09 Jan 2009)
I agree. The properties box is a relic from the past. I would like to see multiple property panes at once instead of having to switch between (font, table, form, document, field, etc.)

@3 Tim and others noting that a "docked" approach to properties display is taking over already, and I think that process should continue as opposed to spending resources trying to fix something that is going away.
