When I reply to an email and then click on Send and File, I select the folder to
save the newly created email. What I would like Notes to do is automatically move
the original email from my inbox to the same folder as the newly created email. Another option would be to delete the original email from my inbox (since I already
have the email thread saved in the newly created email). This should be a preference
option that users can turn on/off.

In the interim, the Swiftfile program will get you close to that. Very quick filing of mail to folders.

Again, I've demoted this as I'm not happy with 'hidden' stuff happening without explicitly saying so
If this was an option on the send & file / folder dialogue box, I'd probably promote instead, but to do it automatically, well , sorry, that's a no no for me

I'm with Christopher, it would be nice to see the list include the folder the original msg is in and the swiftfile choices, but I don't want it to automatically do it.
Since I don't include the orginal in the reply, it would be nice if it file the orginal only if it is in the inbox.

I dont see the objections as valid. Yes, it should be an option for the email template. No yshouldnt have to decide every single time what you want to do.
