I have many private contacts in my local names.nsf. For every entry I have added details like birthday, street, ...
I would like to have now a button(Agent) which imports these birthdays into my calendar. Maybe it would be good idea to work with the contacts which are "Synchronized with my mailfile" (Notes 8 Feature) .

I agree with the general idea, (and I'm promoting), but I don't want it to be a blanket import - I have a lot of anniversaries and birthdays in my contacts that I DON'T want on my calendar - I want to be able to choose which ones go onto my calendar. For instance, I want to have my brothers' (and yes, there are three of us) anniversaries, but not others.

Also, this looks very similar to this idea submitted yeseterday: { Link }

yes... this is a good idea... maybe with a short checkbox "show bithday in the calendar"...

Agreed; but I don't want it to be a static import; either a sync (which could happen at replication) or some sort of live overlay

Now with 8.5.1 it can be a federated calendar, that would only require a view be added to the personal address book or to the mail file. Then users can easily add it if they want to.
