VB Classic (before MS ruined it) had some great functions....
I'd like to see LotusScript have these functions built-in (not just text though - how about clipboard.getRTF,  clipboard.getDocLink
At the moment, some of these can be done using API calls but I'd like to see them built into Notes.  Not sure how implementable they'd be on non-windows OSes?  There must be equivalent functions?

Perhaps you should change the Idea Space?!?

I like the idea of setting and getting clipboard contents. Other OSs have a clipboard concept, too.

I'm wondering: If there is an image on the clipboard and I call clipboard.getDocLink() or clipboard.getText(), what happens (or, rather, what would you propose happens?)

Also, (trying to remember Windows API days) can the clipboard hold different "versions" of the copied "stuff"? What I mean is, I can select text on a web page and pick "edit" > "copy" and my browser will put both an html and a text version on the clipboard. The application that gets the paste request can somehow interrogate the clipboard for the data types... Not sure about that, though... it's been a while.

From memory, you used to be able to get clipboard content in text or RTF mode. I'm not sure if it was held in two formats or if the clipboard routines did the translation.

As far as GetDocLink when there's a graphic on the clipboard is concerned, I'd expect that if the clipboard contains wrong data, it would return blank/null unless someone has a better idea?

@2 - Your memory is correct. The application that puts data on the clipboard can (and many do) post it in multiple formats. The application that gets data off the clipboard gets a list of available formats and retrieves the one that it considers "best" for the destination.
