One problem I continue to notice is backing up a users address book. By default a user's address book is usually set locally. Why not have a user's default address book set to the "Mail File Copy of Contacts" used for iNotes? Then if the user wishes to have a local copy of their contacts then they can create a local replica.
I know you could setup roaming profiles or perhaps have their address book sit on a network drive, but I think this is much more simple right from the start when the user is first setup.

There are much more advantages:
No more need to sync contacts with the mail file, to have them available via iNotes, for sync with Blackberries/Lotus Traveler, to delegate access to the personal contacts to other people.
Absolutely the same is true with the Personal Journal/Notebook which matches perfectly the iNotes "Notebook" module.
When this is done, all the personal stuff of a user is in a single database. The local names.nsf then degrades to a client configuration database.

Another advantage would be the ability to use someone else's address book when you have their mail file open.

You would still need to sync as many apps use the personal address book and journal including smartphone client syncs.
You can easily add the Contact view to your mail file and set the notes ini to use if for lookup using names=. The Notpad feature is the same just add the view to the mail template.
I have the view so I can verify the contact names.
