In Notes 6.5, 7, and Notes 8 Basic clients, you can set policies that determines users' IM settings like so (see screen shots).
This made set up and config easy for users. AFAIK,, these policies don't apply to Notes 8 Standard users. They should. |

Why IdJam used for, this is a REAL NEED, but nodody at Lotus care about this
there is still no policy to manage Sametime awareness . With Basic Client with can still use old
$STActiveToAwayEnabled=1
$STAwayToActiveEnabled=1
$STActiveToAwayTimeout=5
but thery no longer work with Standard client.
