This is especially important when the chair of a work teams standing meeting leaves the company or work team. I am not sure about ND8, but for ND7 and earlier there is an active Enhancement Request for this feature.

I guess the IBM work force is pretty loyal since their developers don't have issues with meeting chairs leaving their jobs. If they did, they would have addressed this oversight earlier on. :-)

I have not checked it in Notes 8, but in earlier versions I would like to have that only the creator (and the administrator of course) of a meeting can cancel it.

I would like to be able to schedule a meeting, but not attend the meeting myself.

On the subject of what happens to meetings when a person leaves the company, we should have a way to cancel (or re-assign) meetings for a chairperson or remove invitees when they are deleted from the domain.

This is a very important piece of functionality that I would like to see addressed.
The use-case described by others is common at my organization; many times senior people cannot attend a meeting at the last minute and their assistants want to get it off their calendar; however, if they are they chair (which is often the case) they cannot remove it without canceling the meeting

No comments in 2½ years but no implementation either...

This lack of funcationality is a hinderance for assitants who look after the mangement of meetings on behalf of someone else.

I would find this feature very helpful for meetings (esp. recurring ones) I set up and then can't chair when conflicts arise.

One big hurdle to overcome is making this work with non-Notes Invitees (or Chairs). While it is possible to convey a new Chair in iCalendar, no known iCalendar implementations support the concept of actually changing the chair from another system.

This is primarily due to there being no secure way to confirm this change in the standards. Without a secure way to verify a change, users could find their meetings being hijacked which would be more harm than good.

There are potential workarounds for this such as simply Canceling and recreating the meeting w/the new Chair but they require every users participation to keep the meeting intact. (Plus it can get very messy when dealing with repeating meetings.)

If there was no requirement to work for _all_ invitees of a meeting (Notes and non-Notes) then this idea would have a greater chance of becoming reality.

@7 - the request you link to is different. That is about the delegation of leavers' meetings to a new chairperson.

My request is for active users to have the ability to delegate their meetings to someone else.
