Be able to specify an Out of office without an end date.
Useful for people on a long sickness leave or even someone who has left the company.

You can easily put a date very far in the future and all will work as expected.
Perhaps you do need to use a date that far; will there still be a Notes application out there over let us say 100 years?

I personaly think it's a bit strange to get a notification like "I will be coming back in 2030" ... ;-)

Most of the time when this situation arrises the absense becomes known after the fact and new mail is already waiting in the Inbox. It's much simpler to write an agent to send an Auto Reply and copy it to a second agent that can be triggered by a menu choice to send the information to emails currently in the Inbox. Entire time involved is less than 5 minutes.

If you have a good IMAC process, mail isn't already waiting. Furthermore, you need someone familiar with agents which unfortunately isn't always the case. Not specifying an end date is the simplest thing you can have, no? No writing of agents involved. Period.
If you have to write agents for every (simple) functionality...
(PS : I do agree that from an admin or dev point of vue, it is easy with agents)

a goode idea. I like it. We sometime have some user who left the company... and use this function to tell the user they sould send this email to person xy.

This is a great Idea. More and more people are either leaving or they are retireing.
It would be nice to have something other than "I will be away from x to y " when the person retire (or leaves the company.) I agree.. Placing the date in way future is cheesy.
I really wish we make this one happen.

If a person is gone for more then a month or so, it is forever in the business world. So if they retire or are absent for a while, the mail should be forwarded to the person now in charge of the absentees work. If I email someone at a company, I don't need to know they retired or are absent for a while, I need someone to answer my emails.
Since it's business mail and not personal, let the new recipient decide on the response.
