IBM has recently published a set of guidelines/best practices for "making delightful products and enlightening experiences"

{ Link }

Would it not make sense for IBM (or someone else for that matter) to publish/submit a baseline template that incorporates the "IBM Design Language" so that new apps can be built upon an "approach to design" that is current/relevant/consistent to a lot of (and not just) enterprise-class Social (and not necessarily Social) Web 2.0+ apps?

I will give this a go myself (and make my efforts available if/once I'm happy with them), but as an Admin (with limited design experience) it may take some time. Surely IBM (or someone more Dev qualified) could whip something up in no-time-at-all.

That link is to the most banal, meaningless tripe I've ever read from IBM - and I've worked for and with the since 1988!
What a crock o' shite

E.g.

"Z layouts account for the natural direction eyes travel when they scan content."
Err - only for Western readers
What about Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic, Hebrew and a host of others?

"Know your users’ habits and equip them with tools that are flexible and ready-at-hand"
How, exactly?

This whole site is full of such inane platitudes
