Lotus Notes is still a terrible threaded client form the Users point of view.  When I attach a file I should still be to do other tasks in the Notes client.  When attaching a files I should be shown a progress indicator, do I have to wait 1 hour or 10 seconds I have no idea.  I decided to write this in a browser as I wait for notes to finish uploading a file, it gave me someting to do.

This should have been done earlier. Maybe its easier eclipse based, though I am not sure as in a lot of areas its a wrapper over the existing code.

This is a primary reason to start using Eclipse based views and components that access Notes data from Eclipse jobs and other threads.

The worst is that the Client and the Designer still is the same thread (like it was in R3 when there was no distinction), so if you are locked in the client, you are locked in the designer too. I hope this will change when the designer becomes Exlipse based.

@2 So does using eclipse views and components let me attach files to a mail and go and do something else in the Notes client?
