Allow the user the choice to hide their voting history from other users if they wish.

@Stuart and @Bill - why not allow this to be a feature? Would love to hear the "why".
2) Rob Goudvis6575 (18 Feb 2009)
No anonymous voting please!
3) Robert Reese54 (18 Feb 2009)
I'm not sure what would be lost allowing an individual to hide their voting history. While it would be "anonymous" its not like you can vote without a log in or more than once so their is not integrity of the vote loss.

Some people might not want you to know they voted against something or worse, have someone "harass" them because they voted against their idea.
4) Bruce Currier5046 (18 Feb 2009)
I voted no on this, but if it also included a way for the admin of the site to decide whether to implement this at all, then my vote would change to yes. This way, companies that wanted to allow anonymous voting could while companies that wanted to know who was voting could.

I agree Bruce, it should be also configureable by the Admin whether or not the users have a choice to hide their votes.
6) Gregg Eldred5315 (19 Feb 2009)
If this is an idea for an entire IdeaJam site, my vote is "demote." If it means that certain IdeaSpace's can be set to anonymous voting, then it is "promote." But until there is some clarification, I've gone with "No Opinion."
7) Mark Demicoli10094 (20 Feb 2009)
From an application standpoint, configurability is salability so commercially it's a good idea. Philosophically anonymity promotes honesty this is why democracy kinda works in principal.

If we are talking about the postings here at IdeaJam, I like to see how people vote on my ideas. Don't hide the votes. If we are talking about the features available in IdeaJam if I were to buy it and use it within my company, I would want an option to hide the votes.

It's like the votes in Congress - NOT anonymous, vs. voting in elections - anonymous. Each has its place.
