I prefer to see Notes/Domino convert a doclink into an inline MIME attachment with the NDL fileformat as described here: { Link }

This way there is no change needed to the UI.

Another great suggestion that really falls under the general bucket of, "Something cool that Outlook does."

Being very specific, and mocking Outlook (in a good way) this feature should technically be called, "Insert Document." This would mock the "Insert Item" feature in Outlook.

Item is to Microsoft Outlook, as Document is to Lotus Notes.

Bottom line, it's a feature I dearly miss from Outlook. The ability to attach vCards, iCals, e-mails, etc. is extremely valuable.

I would send DXL. And at the receiving end if it lands in a Notes Inbox I would like an option to open (converting to a readable and editable document) or to import into some database that I specify.

this should be a very good feature, not just comparing notes with outlook.

when users with outlook create an email and attached one or two emails with it, they simply said " please check the attachment"
while the notes users will go confuse because there is no attachment in their email, they don't know that the email attachement already converted into notes body.

lotus notes should keep the email attachment as is not converted it, or at least an option.
