One language? Come on, even Microsoft knows better than to do that. They have C#, C++, VB, J#, and others. Some people grasp certain languages better than others. That would be like suggesting the whole world learn a single language. Then again, given the misunderstanding of translation, perhaps we should all learn Aldebrian.
No, not "only one language", but that all design elements can be used by that language. So no "@Formula" only in computed text and the mix with SSJS and LS with the new xPages.
Update: IBM is creeping closer to this with Xpages - @Formulas within JavaScript. Also note that Javascript is becoming more widespread across many platforms, even on the server side.
