Currently links can only be clicked on when a document is in read mode.

1) Randy Smith3913 (01 Nov 2007)
Agreed. You can do this for DocLinks, Attachments, etc. Why not URL Links.
2) Grant Lindsay686 (02 Nov 2007)
Or a ctrl-click (and a tool-tip to that effect,) rather than just a click, when in edit mode, so that you don't accidentally launch the site, when all you wanted to do was position the insertion bar inside the word or url.

Also, how about activating the link as soon as it is recognized as one, assuming it is entered like { Link }
3) Grant Lindsay686 (02 Nov 2007)
Sorry, that was supposed to be: "... entered like h t t p : / / . . ."
4) Ninke Westra1722 (08 Nov 2007)
I agree with Grant, the control-click thing would be nice, and I'd like to have that extended to DocLinks as well.

5) Eric Larson2223 (08 Nov 2007)
I subconsciously wish for this several times a day; then I Ctrl-E, copy the URL and move on with my day.
6) Sean Harris320 (11 Feb 2008)
I'm voting yes with the provision that it's a Ctrl+Click option. As @2 mentions, if all you wanted to do is add/change a character, clicking on the URL will be a little problematic.
7) Jens Polster1571 (20 Sep 2008)
Promoting for CTRL-Click as well
8) Qian Liang30 (17 Feb 2012)
Considered by Notes development team. May be available soon.
