Please make the bookmark.nsf more developer friendly. Let there be a policy to replicate the bookmark.ntf from the server AND replace the design locally.....
not sure if some user who use a handy to sync there mails would like to download a 16MB-32MB new bookmark.ntf... if this will be implemented then this feature should look at the location document... and maybe it should ask if the user wish really download this template via handy connection...
You cant talk about bookmarks.nsf without having to drag the "workspace" (desktop6.ndk) into the mix. Both are half baked implimentations that do not serve users, administrators, or developers well. They can fall out of sync, and users dont get why the same information is in both places but different. Admins cannot push and pull links at will short of piles of 3rd party-ware. Developers have to fight uphill to manipulate.
A all encompassing Notes portal and shortcut system which can be easily manipulated by administrators and developers would be welcome.
There is currently the concept of "roaming user" which allows a user (via profile) to replicate their Personal Address Book, bookmarks, and personal journal, along with their mailfile, and mail archive to a roaming server. Additionally, a few of the notes.ini settings are stored in their PAB.
desktop.dsk and cache.ndk are not stored on the roaming server.
Not sure if this helps. I'm still promoting the idea because awareness of roaming profiles (at least in the organizations that I've worked) seems low. It also seems to be an important issue for travelers and could be made a lot easier to manage.
