The Open-button (click on it, or ALT + B to open) has a great "Type to find" field at the top, which let you search for databases on words in the database title. However, the index behind the Open-button seems to live its own life. Sometimes I find a database and sometimes I don't. I can't seem to find a reason for it to fail either. So, please make the index behind the Open-button more stable! If not, I'm afraid the users might wander away from it, since it work on/off :-)

I don't find it inconsistent - I think it is consistently 'broken'. If you mouse over the 'Applications' entry on the menu when you first start notes you briefly see the text 'Loading' displayed, then the menu loads. After this, the search works. The list should be loaded when you start Notes, or when you click on Open.
