Notes workspace pages are used to group applications. It would be convenient to move the pages, i.e. arranging the positions of pages just like in a multi-tabbed browser.
It would prevent me from clicking on inaccessible databases. (Okay: on their icons.)
A disabled workspace page should not be hidden, but its tab may be painted differently, maybe grayed out.
Why? - Some customers allow me to use my laptop at their site. I also work at different offices, ...
I know that the workspace is a sore subject for some, maybe many, but I love it.
It would be nice if we had the option when doing a right-click on a workspace page/tab to arrange icons in a specific order. Options could be:
by Last ...
It would be nice to have a "Bookmark All Tabs" option in Lotus Notes with an additional option to "Bookmark Selected Tabs"...another option to allow a user to select multiple database icons under workspace and have the option to "Bookmark Selected Database Icons", etc.
It would be nice to have the ability to open the Workspace or a workspace page in New window.
As part of the new workspace IBM might (and IMHO should) develop for Lotus Notes, a nice feature would be to have progress bars on the workspace icons, indicating that the application is currently replicating or copying.
Kinda like the Installing progress bars on the iPhone icons.
A nice feature of Lotus Notes is that you can see the number of documents you have not read in a particular database (ahum sorry.. application) from the workspace.
The downside of this feature is that it assumes a document requires a persons attention if the user has not ...
As you know, when you close the Notes Client all open tabs (databases, documents) are saved, they open up again the next time you open Notes.
There are some problems of this functional:
1. If, after the closure of Notes to open it under a different user, then open ...
When dragging a Db icon from one Worspace tab to another, the user should be able to drop the icon in a specific place on the page.
Currently, When database icons are dragged from one workspace tab to another, the destination workspace page is not displayed. It just drops ...
if you open a database that is new to your workspace the database icon is added to the workspace tab of the currently opened database.
I would prefer that you can point to a dedicated tab in the preference where by default the icons will be placed under.
Wouldn't it be nice when you could use keystrokes to select a workspace icon and then remove it? When you need to remove several icons at once (e.g. icons that refer to a server) you need to use the mouse and the mousekeys to often.
It would be nice when there was a function that allows you to remove all workspace icons that refer to a selected server on the current workspace page are removed by a single function.
As a developer I always work on local replica's. This implies that there are workspace ...
Wouldn't it be nice when you could specify in a location what workspace page to use. When you have several ID's and several workspace pages it would be very useful when the related workspace page is immediately shown after login or after swich of location.
Google Mail and Google Reader display the unread count in the browser tab. I would like to see this in Notes Client Workspace tabs, too.
I'm really tired of the 1980's design of the workspace. It has served Notes users well for over 20 years, but the time has come for a major and I mean MAJOR overhaul. I look at the slick interfaces for iPhones, Blackberry, even Windows and wonder why my Notes workspace ...
Alt-Left Arrow and Alt-Right Arrow currently navigate backward and forward through the history of items opened. sort of. A more logical response to these commands is to cycle left and right through the tabs currently opened.
The current response to Alt-Left Arrow doesn't always go back to the last ...
As servers come and go, the list of server names cannot be updated to eliminate servers that no longer exist. They remain forever until a new desktop8.ndk is created. This is especially irritating for administrators and developers who work with test servers or servers from other domains. Touch it once ...
I have no idea where the Edit\Undo function all applies on, but for me this function may be extended to a lot more. For example the deletion of database icons, are workspace tabs/pages.
Especially with Notes 8 it seems very easy/sensitive to delete a set of database icons from ...
My problems to organize DB-Icons in the workspace would be solved much better, if I could get at least one level of sub-tabs/sub-pages in a workspace-page.
I personally miss the bookmarks from Notes 5 to 7 because i had the possibility with subfolders. I am obviously really alone with this ...
