Idea:

I would like to open MS Office 2007 Documents with my Lotus Notes 8.0.1 Client... but at the moment this isn´t possible. So here is my feature request for this... Please vote ;-).

Idea:

I have many private contacts in my local names.nsf. For every entry I have added details like birthday, street, ...

I would like to have now a button(Agent) which imports these birthdays into my calendar. Maybe it would be good idea to work with the contacts which are "Synchronized with my mailfile" (Notes 8 Feature).

Idea:

Hi,

we have some user which creates some mailrules to move mails into folder... BUT after some weeks/month/... they remove the folder for some reasons.

The rule is still active and produce some errors (and took CPU time and much more)...

I would like to have a change in the code which will deactivate such a rule when a folder is removed/renamed.

Idea:

Does anybody use the Lotus Notes Modemfiles which are installed with Lotus Notes? I doesn´t know a company who use them... BUT they are installed via default.

To give the user a cleaner installation (and eleminate questions what are modemfiles) I would like to have this files disabled in the next client installer. So if needed they can be selected and installed.

What do you think?

Comment: It's a nice idea, but given that even opening 2K7 docs in Office 2K3 requires a fairly meaty Office download, it seems unlikely to happen any time soon.

Why can the user enter some non-number characters in a number field? Why isn´t this blocked just in time? It should be possible

Only when he save the form/document he will get a "cannot convert text to number" error message and this produces some user-frustrations.

What I would like to see is a just-in-time check if the user enter only number or a better way... let him enter only numbers and when he press a character block the input.

Comment: I think it's a good idea, but why not add an 'input mask' field to each field's properties.
This is how it works in MS Access:
0 A single digit
9 A single digit or space
# A digit, space, + or –
L An alphabetical character
? A letter
A A letter or a digit
a A letter, a digit, or nothing
& A character or space
C A character, space, or nothing
. A decimal place holder; for US English, this would be the period
, Thousand separator; for US English, this would be a comma
:;-/ Date and time separator, as specified in the Regional Settings of Control Panel
< A letter; the letter will be converted to lowercase
> A letter; the letter will be converted to uppercase
! Anything; the mask is filled from right to left for this position
| Anything; the character that follows this one will be displayed itself. For example, if you type |L, the letter L would be displayed instead of being used as a mask

This would allow the developer to be in control of the input !

Idea:

Some of my Lotus Domino 8 Servers and a 7.0.2 Webserver are running very well on Ubuntu (Debian) Linux. It is a very stable Operation System and it saves me from license costs.

BUT IBM doesn´t Support this OS. Only cost-intensive platforms are supported.

Idea:

Sometimes my users delete a document in a DB and after that they couldn´t remember that they have deleted it. So I would have the option to see which person deleted a document. Maybe in the DB Access log or somewhere else.

Idea:

Hello,

I often write eMails in german with english words... (or I write a german or a english email... )

Every time I need to switch between these two dictionaries. I know how to do but many users doesn´t know or it need to much time... A good idea would be to use two dictionaries. A primary and a secondary. So when I write a english word in my german email it will be not red underlined because it will be found in the secondary dictionarie.

Comment: I'm not sure I understand when you say you have "switch between these two dictionaries". I can tag part of the text as English and another part as German and when I run the spell checker is works just fine.

Comment: Since soft deletions save the entire document, they add a lot more overhead. It's not practical to soft-delete for a week or a month.

A deletion log makes sense if it could be enabled in the db properties, and if you can define how much history to keep (either within each db, or with a policy).

Comment: Does installing multiple dictionaries solve your problem? The Notes client gives you the ability to have supplemental dictionaries. I tried to test it, but my local client lacks the necessary DLL to complete the process (install selection me thinks).
