"Smarter" opening of doclinks and database links

: Notes Client / Core/Frameworks (Incl. sidebar, rich text editor)
: doclink, navigation, wan
Peter Moline1474 - 03 2007 / (0)
How many users in your organisation have got bookmarks or database icons that point to geographically "distant" servers, instead of a local office server? If your organisation has a WAN, then the answer is likely to be plenty, I reckon.

I would like to see the Notes client be ...

Bring back Ctrl+tab in Notes 8

: Notes Client / Core/Frameworks (Incl. sidebar, rich text editor)
: ctrl+tab, navigation, client
Rob Porter837 - 11 2009 / (1)
In earlier versions of Notes you could use ctrl+tab to switch between the tabs you have open in the client (i.e. the databases and documents currently open in the ui). This functionality is missing from the Eclipse based Notes 8 client.

As far as I understand ctrl+tab is a ...

Make any NSF the Home Page via Policies

: Notes Client / Other
: navigation
Roland Reddekop4539 - 01 2008 / (0)
Make any Notes NSF and make it your "Notes Portal" via policies. Then you can use "hide-whens" and ACL roles to serve up the content that applies to each person's job. This will align Notes with the web-side of Domino  where you just enter a URL into a server document ...

Make Ctrl-click navigate to same doc in selected view (again)

: Notes Client / Other
: notes client, navigation
David Hablewitz15116 - 16 2010 / (0)
If you select a document in a view, the hold down the Ctrl key and click on a different view, it will automatically navigate to the same document in that view (if it exists in the view) -- NOT.  But it used to.  I know this isn't a forum for ...

Make View Navigation consistent between standard Notes Views and Java Views

: Notes Client / Other
: navigation
Roland Reddekop4539 - 01 2008 / (0)
To go to the beginning/end of a Notes View you used Ctrl+Home/End. For Java Views its just Home/End. Its a little frustrating to switch between two methods, especially for end-users who have no clue that Notes Views and Java Views are different.

Prevent accidental closure of Notes home page

: Notes Client / Core/Frameworks (Incl. sidebar, rich text editor)
: navigation, home
Roland Reddekop4539 - 20 2008 / (0)
Since R5 the Home page was added to Notes (replacing the workspace) and many orgs deployed a corporate home page with news feeds and links to commonly used applications (often roles-based). Users are in the habit of pressing escape to close windows to get back to Home, but with 8, ...

Navigation capabilities in the document properties window

: Notes Client / Core/Frameworks (Incl. sidebar, rich text editor)
: document properties box, navigation
Vlad Sh10679 - 05 2012 / (0)
Severely lacking conventional UI-features in items tab:
1. Scroll in both (left and right) side this window.
2. The transition to the next items on the left side of the window by pressing keys Up/Down and PgUp/PgDown.

Fix Alt-Left Arrow and Alt-Right Arrow to navigate left and right through the tabs properly

: Notes Client / Core/Frameworks (Incl. sidebar, rich text editor)
: workspace, navigation, client, ctrl+tab, alt+arrow
David Hablewitz15116 - 06 2009 / (0)
Alt-Left Arrow and Alt-Right Arrow currently navigate backward and forward through the history of items opened.  sort of.  A more logical response to these commands is to cycle left and right through the tabs currently opened.

The current response to Alt-Left Arrow doesn't always go back to the last ...
