This is now solved in 8.5.2. But unless there's a policy allowing to set the font style globally this would cause problems with companies that want to apply their Corporate Design to mails.

Now that this is available I have to say:

- it's implemented in an absolutely unintuitive way. This should have been a preference in the preference dialog and not an action in the text menu
- a possibility for admins to set this by policy is seriously lacking. Some organisations want to set this to comply with ther CI guidelines. And that's not possible right now.
Even worse: now the font settings of the Body field in the design of the Memo form are ignored.

Isn't it yet possible to install two Traveler servers on a clustered pair of Domino servers and then use some kind of IP spreader or DNS round robin in front of them to distribute connections to both? The same way you'd do it for iNotes access?

Building a traveler cluster in a way we know it from Domino would mean to tell the clients to look for another server when one's unreachable. I don't think it would be easy (for IBM) to modify for example an iPhone's Exchange account to do that.

I know servers with at least four replicas of a database and never had issues with it. Also not with moving databases with the admin client on the same server. Do you have any source or technotes regarding this problem?

I see the problem but I'd rather see a fix that updates local recent contacts when they originate from the Domino Directory.
Especially because IBM itself promotes adding those contacts to the PAB at various times, e.g. to have them available on Traveler devices.

I think there should be no differences at all in the user experience when a user opens Quickr with a supported browser.

I agree with Peter. I don't think there are many cases a user wants to add or modify a hide-when intentionally. But then you could display a message box if it's disabled anyway.

I've got customers running Notes 6.5 or 7 on TS. And one customer tested 8.0.2 on Windows 2008 TS but the setup failed AFAIK.

Yes, this is possible for some versions now. I'm pretty sure 7 can do this. 8.5 added only the UI in the desktop settings doc.

I think you could workaround the lack of a remove option by setting no or a useless value for the parameter.

I'd rather open the viewer on doubleclick. Then the viewer could display a button to edit/open the attachment.

@Bill: I've seen end users call the help desk because the got search results and couldn't see the word in the document (for example a username who's hidden in reader field). So I would've been very happy if I'd had the opportunity to exclude some fields from FT index.

@1: In names.nsf the user can update his own contact information with author access. I don't think he could do that in dircat.

I been using one part of the ac'tivaid script collection { Link } to do this system wide so no need for an extra option in Notes.

Yes. This is totally a showstopper for our own usage of Quickr. Having to switch between Notes and Browser is not the way to go if you want to work heavily in both worlds.

I think this should be set by policies. Checking against your server configuration makes no sense because

1. you never know over which servers your mail routes
2. mail size could be limited by other applications which allow a more granular setting than Domino's own configuration.

This stack trace dialog shouldn't be shown to the user at all.

In Notes 7 and 8 basic you can click on it and it disappears. I think that's the best solution. I wish this would be able for 8 standard, too.

I think it should distinguish between local replicas and copies. I almost always want a local replica to be encrypted but almost never want this for a local copy.
