Small improvement that can halve the number of actions when responding to memos :-
Currently, double-clicking in the Inbox opens the selected message in a new tab. Hitting reply composes a Reply form, so now you have two tabs. On sending the reply, the message opened in read-mode is sitting there and normally needs to be closed manually unless you're experimenting with how many tabs you can have before Notes complains :)
Typically the Esc key gets a hot workout.
I'd like to have a preference which automatically closes the message either as soon as Reply is composed or when the reply is sent.

This option already exists in 8.5.x.

Thanks for pointing that out, although I can't find it in 8.5.3. In 8.5.2 it is documented here, but the 8.5.3 dialog has changed

Also interesting to note "LO66596: 'AUTOMATICALLY CLOSE ORIGINAL E-MAIL WHEN REPLYING/FORWARDING' NOT WORKING" IN 8.5.2 (link below). Have Lotus pulled the preference in 8.5.3?

I was using an old Mail template - upgraded template and now the preference appears. If it is not working properely it's a bug so not an idea here :) I will withdraw this one.
