When using Group Calendar in Notes 8 client, you are not able to schedule a meeting with the group unless you have write access to someone in the group's calendar. Then, when you create an invitation, it doesn't populate the usernames into the required field. It works using Notes Web (inotes).
Because of this, I seldom recommend people use the Group Calendar unless they need to check the whereabouts of several people at once. But to use for scheduling, it is not a timesaver. Fortunately, Group Calendar will now print everyone's entries into one calendar (if you have read access to their calendar). This didn't always work in Notes 7.
