Add the TAB key for anchoring formula cell range selections

: Symphony
: formula anchor edit select range
G Louck25 - 23 2012 / (0)
For making formulas or anything having to do with achoring when painting cell ranges, it would be nice if IBM Symphony would anchor range selections, like Symphony for DOS did, by selecting the TAB key instead of having to take ones' hands off the keyboard to specifically paint the range ...

Keypad navigation like Symphony for DOS 3.0 had

: Symphony
: spreadsheet navigation by touch keypad home pageup pagedown
G Louck25 - 23 2012 / (0)
Simple concept.  In the DOS version of Symphony, turning the keyboard NUM-LOCK off made the keypad a navigation tool.  Home = cell A1, End-Home = the bottom most, right most cell, End-PgDn/PgUp = last or first cell of that column in the spreadsheet, End-ArrowUP/ArrowDn = the last cell of a ...

Better Header and Footer for Spreadsheets

David Beczuk33 - 23 2012 / (0)
If you receive a document from a client that has worked in a different Office package that supports Images and other information in the header/footer area, that document will not work as it should. For example I have such a client that has a logo in the header of a ...

Use Ctrl-Tab to move between tabs in Symphony

: Symphony
: enhancement, tabs
James Carroll246 - 07 2011 / (0)
This is like an idea posted for Notes, but should apply to Symphony, too.  When I've got multiple files open in Symphony I want a simple keystroke (such as Ctrl-Tab) to move among the files, rather than having to use the mouse to select which file to work on.

Changing cases of characters

: Symphony
: enhancement, document, characters, upper case, lower case
James Carroll246 - 07 2011 / (0)
How about duplicating Word's ability to change the case of characters, not just to make the selection all upper case or all lower case, but "title case" (Where The First Letter Of Every Word Is Upper Case) or "sentence case" (Where only the first letter of the selection is made ...

Keep SDK updated

Vasileios Anagnostopoulos62 - 28 2011 / (0)
The symphony SDK  supports Eclipse 3.4.2. I would like to have it updated for indigo and if possible push it to Eclipse MarketPlace. I would also like more samples and more documentation.

could we get the nice slider (as LibreOffice/MS Office today) on the bottom to resize the view ? For me much more handy then this 'old' behavior from Symphony3 today.

Mass Conversion Tool: SmartSuite files => Symphony

: Symphony
: wordpro, lwp, smartsuite, freelance, prz, 123, wk4
Ulrich Luetzner120 - 07 2011 / (0)
Since I have many files originally created with e.g WordPro, 1-2-3, Freelance, Smartsuite a tool for mass conversion would be very helpful to migrate from those "old" formats to Symphony / Open Docs (rather than to open/save each file - assuming  Symphony supports those file types again).

Postcode Widget for Symphony

: Symphony
: postcode, mapping, symphony, marketing, google maps, kml
Roy Lee30 - 02 2011 / (0)
I would like a widget for symphony which will convert a list of postcodes into Longitude and Latitude co-ordinates so that they can be presented to the google maps api in a KML formatted file.
Converting one postcode is easy, but becomes very time consuming for ...

Add Lotus Word Pro Tabs for Sections/Divisions

: Symphony
: sections, divisions
D. Douglas100 - 17 2011 / (0)
I continue to use Lotus Word Pro for two reasons, one of which is the use of tabs at the top of the page for  sections and divisions.
These make it very easy to switch between document parts (much easier than a master w/ sub-docs)  One can easily move ...

Insert copied cells in the spreadsheet of Symphony

: Symphony

Leonardo Noach732 - 30 2010 / (0)
Insert copied cells is an old functionality of MS-Office very useful missing in Smartsuite, OpenOffice and Symphony.
You can move some rows o columns in MS-Office in two steps instead of three steps in Symphony.

In MS-Office you can select some rows, then select cut and finally select ...

Clive Grimwood170 - 02 2010 / (0)
This is a plea for you to transfer the Smartsuite read functionality from Symphony 1.3 into Symphony 3. This is most important to all SmartSuite users - of which I believe there are many, me amongst them .... To be honest I'm saddened it was removed as part of the ...

Add support for OpenType Fonts on Linux systems

: Symphony
: linux, font, fonts, opentype, otf
Bartosz Makara92 - 30 2010 / (0)
Symphony doesn’t support any OpenType fonts on Linux systems. Migrating OpenOffice 3.2 sources should solve this problem because OpenOffice also didn’t supported *.otf-fonts until version 3.2.

Reopen any open tabs on restart

Anders Åslund230 - 28 2010 / (0)
I Lotus Notes there is an option:
Preferences -> Windows and Themes -> "On restart, reopen any tabs that were open when I closed the client".
This is a very good feature in Lotus Notes and I wish that it also would be available in Lotus Symphony 3
