You should via policy be able to completely control what application is shown when logging into Notes. This was traditionally called the Welcome Page.
Example 1: When users in the '*/Bob Costas Who?' OU start notes, it should display the frameset "CMA Welcome" from the local database CMA.nsf, rep ID 1322134132:23414321.
Today when enable an archive criteria for a mail database we have only 2 options:
Option to synchronize contacts should be available in either the scriptable setup (ie: rep.contacts=1 in text file) or better yet, via a desktop policy.
Currently, on version 8.0.2 of Lotus Notes, it is enabled on a client by client basis. For some reason, some of the clients have it disabled ...
Add a field in a desktop policy that will allow an administrator push out Notes.ini parameters to the users desktops. We would also need to be able to recall or remove Notes.ini settings (if possible). The most recent example of when this would be helpful would be pushing out the ...
I want to be able to deploy new toolbars, and update the code/icons within existing toolbars, without have to resort to using LotusScript in buttons or database events. Desktop Policy would seem to be the logical choice.
We currently use some code created by Andre Guirard, which works OK ...
We are beginning to roll out the 8.0.1 client. It is becoming apparent that we need to disable adding names to "Recent Contacts". The feature is causing more problems (i.e ambiguous names) than the convenience is worth. I would like to do this using a Policy, but the option to restrict the adding of ...
In Notes 6.5, 7, and Notes 8 Basic clients, you can set policies that determines users' IM settings like so (see screen shots).
This made set up and config easy for users.
AFAIK,, these policies don't apply to Notes 8 Standard users. ...
How about the the ability of rules to read the html of a html formed email? This has been a big annoyance since it came out in R5.
Rules seem more for simple text documents and Notes only than for something that actually works like MS Outlook version.
And a big one.. Rules ...
We would like to use the feedreader to inform our users about news in our org (instead of mail to everybody). For that we need a Policy, where we can specify Feeds incuding Username/Password or better "Use Sametime Password" or even more better: "use Notes ID = Notes Replication".
It would be great if you could have policies applied to specific locations.
I have a policy to set the local proxy and this get's applied to all locations including Internet where no proxy is needed.
I like how Quickr's policies allow us to set limits on Place sizes, and how Quickr automatically emails Place Managers when Places get too large.
The problem is -- how do people know what to get rid of? My suggestion is to include brief report (or a link to ...
Currently with Policies they are applied based on OU or explicitly. Further, for archive policies, you can choose either a specific archive server, or choose to archive to the home mail server.
This is not flexible enough if you have many users in the same OU spread across 2 or more ...
Restrictions such as quotas, attachments limits, and "user rules mail forwarding" -- all currently configured in Server Configuration documents, and therefore having a minimum granularity level of one server -- should be moved to Policy settings, since these are restrictions that apply to users, not to servers.
I would like to be able to manage the return receipt of notes mails and/or internet mails.
The administrator could administer this client setting over the "Mail"-policy .
In the desktop setting document you have the option to start a replication when the client starts and can define, if the user is asked.
It would be helpful if this option would also be available at the "Replicate when the client shuts down"-setting ...
Add a setting to the setup policy settings to allow for the journal.nsf/notebook.nsf to be created automatically on first Notes client launch.
Add a setting to the desktop policy settings to be able to create the jouranl.nsf/notebook.nsf if it doesn't already exist.
We enable roaming before activating BlackBerries. ...
Right now there is NO way to use an API or exposed program method to write an agent which will check or uncheck the replication advanced options which would prevent design and form updates.
This is useful when doing a slow progressive migration or upgrade from r5 to r7 in ...

When visiting customers, I use a suplied Notes ID to connect to their Domino environment and as a result, my Notes client results in a mixture of settings being pushed down by organizational policies.
I understand that you do not want end users to bypass policies but as an ...

I suggest to save the sent mail only in the Mail database and put a sorta of mail send request in another DB ( I.E. mailreq.box ) .
