Even having a rough way to do this in Midas, I would really like to see a simple @formula (and matching LotusScript) method for determining if there was anything in the rich text. Even better would be if it took an argument that specified whether whitespace was included, so you ...
Let me modify the content of a rich text field in a currently open document with LotusScript, and let the result be visible without the need to save and reopen the document.
The best method for this would be to use the existing refresh method in the NotesUIDocument class:
For too long, e-mail messages using rich text formatting have lost their fidelity when sent to either external addresses or to the iNotes client. A messaging server should be able to preserve the sender's formatting, providing the recipient with a message as it was intended with no loss of fidelity. ...
It would enable much more powerful and useful applications if IBM could enhance the refresh capability so that a document could be refreshed, including changes to rich text, without saving and without the need for convoluted scripts such as the one Andre Guirard always has to point to: ...
We already have GetFormattedText and GetUnformattedText, but what would really be helpful is to have a method that spits out the contents of a Rich Text field as HTML. It should be no more and no less than what happens when you send an email to an outside user. That's ...
The 'Permanent Pen' feature is really useful, for the 10% or less of users that ever manage to find/learn it.
I would like to see the following improvements:
a) a clear visual indicator (perhaps a different cursor?) when permanent pen is on
b) right-click menu option to turn OFF ...
As far as I know, there is no way to set a RichText field to automatically "PassThruHTML" its content on save.
This becomes necessary when you use a web RichText-editor like FCKEditor, Tiny HTML Editor, etc.
The workaround is to do this on WebQuerySave ...
I wish that IBM would enhance the NotesRichTextItem class and provide a function to insert Richtext into existing richtext.
To find the insertion point, the FindNextElement method of the NotesRichTextNavigator class could be used.
The insertion point can be before or after the element you found.
An alternative ...
The option to show an editable text-editor toolbar for a rich text field in the Notes client would not only make the UI a bit more professional. It would also make it possible to move action buttons that I nowadays have to locate in the normal action bar into such ...
Please give option also for rich text fields same as all other field types - Input Enabled.
It's really obviously that all field types need this option. There are a lot of situations where specific document fields shouldn't be changed by user including RichText(work flow databases for example)
Suppose I've written several paragraphs and want to highlight several things with different text. I want to use ctr-select to add several distinct areas of text which I can then apply a style or text properties to all of the selected areas at once.
In rich text, I wish I could specify a font that was the ideal font, then a secondary font, and so on, the way that CSS allows a list of possible font faces. See my blog post for more details if this idea is not clear.
It seems like I need an alternative to the dojo rich text control to allow me to display the contents of rich text fields on an XPage when I dont actually need to edit the content. e.g. Within a repeat control I might like to display the contents of a ...
Notes has a great feature, allowing part of a text to be tagged with a different language.
Many of my customers (including myself) write e.g. mails switching languages (per email, or even inside 1 email).
Especially now in Notes 8, we have instant spell checking, these are the steps the ...
In the Notes Client, users can modify the hide when settings in a RichText field.
In multiple cases, it is preferred that the complete richttext item inherits the settings as designed in the form.
My idea is to add a flag to the field properties to disable ...
I love the inline spell check in the RT editor. But why stop there? Must Notes always hang on the brink of greatness? I want to see full Symphony support: auto correction of text, capitalization of first letters of sentences, smart hyphens, smart quotes, etc., etc., etc.
Richtext Field + some Text Fields: Double click on a word should just select the word - not a trailing blank behind it
If there is a blank behind a word, it is also selected when double-clicking the word.A <CTRL> + <C> then copies this space character as well. This may lead to errors when the string is pasted somewhere.
I would like to select the word only, like the subject field in ...
Now in the context menu of hotspots there are 2 items:
But sometimes you want to copy the link, which indicates hotspot, and ...
It would be nice to be able to include a toolbar for the RichText field in Notes Client. It seems like it is done for the web.
If you have a computed richtext field you cannot mark any of its content when being in edit mode. Same applies to richtext fields "secured" by access restricted sections.
I would like the ability to mark, search, copy, drag n drop all the contents of such a richtext field....
How about having a hyphenate function for richtext?
