Idea:

Symphony makes the Notes install kit very large. This is a problem for remote users. The process to remove Symphony from the kit involves downloading special zip and unzip tools, rebuilding the install kit as well as getting the install shield tuner and running it to build a new transform. Just finding all the tools and instructions is challenge enough.

IBM should build a kit that excludes this software.

There was an open mic discussion with IBM recently and many people were asking for the same thing. But the ftp folder for the zip tools referenced does not exist.

So I would vote against such a package.

By the way... the tool to remove eclipse components is in the tools folder in your Notes Client installation. There is no need to download it.
